Tutorial ~ FTU ~ Mean Muggin (Forum Style)

Supplies Needed

Tube of choice.

I am using PinUp Toons Individual Tube 86-2.  You must have a license to use his artwork.  Please visit CDO for more information.

I am using a mask by Moonbeams and Spiderwebs.  MB and SW Timeline Mask 5.

Plug-ins I am using are ::

 Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow

MuRa's Meister Copies
AAA Frames Foto Frame
Font is BN Year 2000
I am using two different textured papers from a scrapkit.  Choose 2 colors that compliment your tube choice making sure one is dark and one is light.  A textured paper gives more depth to your tag but it's up to you.
I am using PSP 9 but am sure this will work with any version you have.
Let's get started
Open up your tube, mask and papers in PSP.  Shift D to duplicate your tube and your mask.  Close out originals.

New image 600 x 250.  Flood fill with your lighter paper.  Layers, new mask layer, from image, choose your mask from the drop down menu, source luminance the only one checked, ok, layers, merge, merge group.

New raster layer, layers, arrange, send to bottom.  Flood fill with your darker paper, layers, merge, merge all flatten.

Rectangle tool, line type solid, width 10.  Foreground your lighter paper, background is null.  Make sure you have your rulers on.  Image, rulers.  Starting on the top left corner at 10 vertical and horizontal drag your square down to 240 vertical and across to 230.  Layers, convert to raster layer.
Magic Wand tool, replace, RGB, tollerance and feather at 0.  Click center of your square, selections, modify, expand 5.
Copy and paste your tube and position in the square.  Drag down under your square layer, selections, invert, delete.  Selections, Select None, Effects, plugins, Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.  Under the Color tag choose Thin.  Under the Basic tab 9, 25, 100, Draw Only Outside checked.

Square layer active, Effects, 3D effects, drop shadow at 2, 2, 50 and 5, black, ok, ctrl Y to repeat.  Then go back to drop shadow and change the first two numbers to -2, click ok then ctrl Y to repeat.  Layers, merge, merge down.

Effects, MuRa's Meister, Copies with these settings

Change blend mode to Luminance.

Layers, merge, merge all flatten.  Layers, promote background layer, layers, duplicate.  On your duplicate layer (should be top layer) effects, plugins, AAA Photo Frames, Foto Frame with these settings

Lower the opacity of this layer to 68, layers, merge all flatten.

Selections, select all, layers, new raster layer, flood fill with your darker paper, selections, modify, contract by 4, hit delete key.  Selections, select none.  Effects, Gradient Glow but change first number to 3.

Selections, select all, layers, new raster layer, flood fill with your lighter paper, selections, modify contract by 12, hit delete key, selections, modify, expand by 5, selections, invert, hit delete key.

Effects, 3D effects, drop shadow, ok, ctrl Y to repeat, drop shadow again but change first two numbers to 2, ok, ctrl Y to repeat.

Layers, merge, merge down.

Copy and paste your tube dragging it beneath your frame layer and position to your liking.  Add drop shadows with current settings, ctrl Y to repeat then change first two numbers to -2, ok, ctrl Y to repeat.

Add your copyright and license information.  I added a Gradient Glow to my info since it was on a dark background with the first number at 3.  Layers, merge all flatten.

For my text I chose BN Year 2000, stroke 2, size 48, foreground at #ece8e1 and background my darker paper.  Type out your text, position in the lower left corner, layers, convert to raster layer, add drop shadow then change first two numbers to 2 and add drop shadow again.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial.  I would love to see your results and with permission showcase them here as examples.  Please feel free to send them to me at dianadcreations@gmail.com

Here is another example by me.  I changed the blend mode to Luminance Legacy on this one and just put the text in a different spot.
