Tutorial ~ FTU ~ Glances (Forum Style)


Supplies Needed

Please remember that my tutorials are for use as a guide.  You may use your own tube choice and scrap paper choices for this.

I am using the beautiful Jennifer Janesko Individual Tube 37-3.  You must have a license to use her artwork.  Please visit CDO for more information.

Schnegge's Scraps FTU Angel or Devil scrap kit

Mask is by Moonbeams & Spiderwebs.  MB and SW Timeline Mask 5.

Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow.

MuRa's Meister Copies.

Font is BN Year 2000

PSP 9 but I am sure any version will work for this tutorial.

Let's get started

Open up your mask and tube in PSP.  Shift D and duplicate each, close out original.  Open up paper 1 and 2 from scrap kit.

New image 600 x 250, flood fill with paper 2, layers, new mask layer, from image, choose your mask from the drop down menu, Source Luminace is the only once checked, ok, layers, merge, merge group.

Layers, new raster layer, layers, arrange, send to bottom, flood fill with paper 1, layers, merge, merge all flatten, selections, select all, image, crop to selection.

Elipse tool, line solid, size 2, foreground set to paper 2, background null.  Starting at 10 vertical and 10 horizontal drag your circle to 240 horizontal and 240 vertical.  Objects, align, vertical in canvas, layers, convert to raster layer.

Magic wand tool settings at Replace, RGB, Feather and Tollerance 0, click center of your circle, selections, modify, expand by 1.  Copy and paste your tube, position where you like it, layers, arrange, move down so that your tube is beneath your circle, selections, invert, hit delete key on your keyboard.

Back to your circle layer, effects, 3D Effects, drop shadow 2, 2, 50, 5, black, ok, ctrl Y to repeat drop shadow, layers merge, merge down.

Effects, plugins, MuRa's Meister Copies with the following settings

Effects, plugins, Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow, under the color tab choose thin, under the basic tab choose 9, 25, 100, ok.  Change blend mode to Luminance.  Layers, merge, merge all flatten.

Selections, select all, layers, new raster layer, flood fill with paper 1, selections, modify, contract by 4, hit your delete key, selections, select none, Gradient Glow changing first number to 3.

Selections, select all, layers, new raster layer, flood fill with paper 2, selections, modify, contract by 12, hit delete key, selections, modify, expand by 4, selections, invert, hit delete key, selections, select none, add same drop shadow then ctrl Y to repeat.  Layers, merge, merge all flatten.

Copy and paste your tube, resize to 68%, resize all layers unchecked, position to the right using my tag as a guide.  Gradient Glow but change the first number to 4, ok.

Layers, merge, merge all flatten.  Add your copyright and license information.  Gradient Glow but change the first number to 3, layers, merge, merge all flatten.

Text tool, BN Year 2000, size 48, stroke 1, foreground #e0d2bb, background black.  Type out your text, position using my tag as a guide, layers, convert to raster layer, Gradient Glow keeping 3 as the first number.

Save as a JPEG.
