Tutorial ~ FTU ~ Living On The Edge (Forum Style)

Supplies Needed

Tube of choice

I am using the first tube in PinUp Toons Package 1.  You must have a license to use this artwork.  Please visit CDO for more information.  For my second example I am using the second tube in the pack.

I am using word art DD_WA_0005 created by me found here.

Font used is AcaciasHand

(this matches the font used in the Word Art)

Plugins Used

Mura's Meister ~ Copies

VM Distortion ~ Mosaic Ripples

AAA Frames ~ Foto Frame

Xero ~ Porcelain

Eye Candy 4000 ~ Gradient Glow

Open up your tube and your word art.  Duplicate both and close out originals.

New image 600 x 250

Copy and paste your tube.  Mura's Meister, Copies

 

 Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur, 10

Effects, VM Distortion, Mosaic Ripple, 22, 176

Effects, Edge Effects, Dilate, ctrl Y to repeat this step then ctrl Y once more

Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance

 Effects, AAA Frames, Foto Frame

This is what it should look like with no frame around the edge of the bottom, only the top.

Layer, Duplicate, Image, Mirror, Image, Flip, lower the opacity to 41, layers, merge down.

 Effects, Xero, Porcelain

Selections, Select All, Image, Crop to Selection

Copy and paste your tube, re-size to your liking, move it to the right, apply the Xero Porcelain effect with same settings, Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen if needed.

Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow, 2, 2, 50, 7, Ok, ctrl Y, drop shadow changing first two numbers to -2, Ok, ctrl Y.

Layers, Duplicate, bottom tube layer active layer, Effects, Distortion Effects, Wind, From the Right checked, 100.  (Note ::  if you place your tube on the left side of your tag then change the direction to From the Left)

Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance More, Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance

Copy and paste your word art, layers, arrange, bring to top, re-size to 68%, position, add drop shadow at 2, 2, 50, 7.

 Duplicate word art, bottom word art layer active, Effects, Distortion Effect, Wind, same settings as before.

Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance More, Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance.

Top word art active, Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance.

Selections, Select All, Modify, Select Selections Borders at 3, Layers, New Raster Layer, Flood Fill with color of your choice, Selections, Select None.

Effects, Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow, under the Color tab choose Thin, the color should already be at white if not choose white, under the Basic tab numbers from top to bottom are 6.00, 25, 100, box checked.

Add your copyright and licensing information as needed.  I added the Gradient Glow effect to mine changing the first number to 3 since it needed to be visible on such a dark background.

Add your name, Layers, Convert to Raster Layer, Layers, Duplicate, bottom text active, apply the Wind effect, top layer active, apply the drop shadow.

Layers, Merge All, Flatten.  Save as a JPEG.

Here is my second tag using a different tube and colors.  For this tag I put the tube on the left side and then changed the wind direction to the left.
