Tutorial ~ PTU ~ Punk Masquerade

Supplies Needed

I am using the fun PTU scrapkit by Babycakes ScrapBCS_IB-Marika-17-2 with the matching tube Marika Individual Tube 17-2.  You must have a license to use this artwork.  Please visit CDO for more information or to purchase.

Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow.

For my text I am using a FTU font called Masquerade Font by UrbanFonts.

This was written for PSP 9 but I am sure any version will work.

As with all of my tutorials they do not need to be followed exactly.  Put your own spin on it!

When it instructs to position something please use my tag as a reference.

Let's get creative!

Open up a new transparent image 600 x 600 

Copy and paste element 17, Image, Resize, 68%, All Layers Unchecked.  Effects, Drop Shadow, 2, 2, 40, 4, black, Ok, ctrl Y to repeat.  Now change numbers to -2, Ok then ctrl Y to repeat again.

Magic Wand tool settings ::  Replace, RGB Value, Feather and Tollerance 0, Outside checked

Click inside of your frame.  Selections, Modify, Expand by 20

Layers, new raster layer, layers, arrange, move down beneath frame, flood fill with paper 4, selections, select none.  Rename this layer Paper.

Staying on this layer copy and paste element 4, resize using same settings, move up using my tag as a reference.  Add drop shadow 2, 2, 40, 4, black.

Top layer (should be your frame) active, copy and paste element 21, resize to 41%, move to bottom left of frame.  Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.  Under the Color tab choose Thin, white, opacity at 100.  Under the Basic tab 9, 25, 100, Draw Only Outside Selection checked.

Copy and paste element 25, resize to 41%, position, Gradient Glow but change first number to 6.  Copy and paste element 26, resize to 50%, position, drop shadow 3, 3, 50, 3.  Layers merge, merge down.

Copy and paste your close-up tube, arrange beneath word art layer, position to the right top of your tag.  Gradient Glow, change first number to 9.  You will have some overlap on the frame at the bottom but we will be adding elements to cover this.

Copy and paste element 7, resize 31%, position to the bottom right of frame just above your tube so that it covers some of the overlap.  Drop shadow 2, 2, 40, 4, black.

Copy and paste element 3, resize to 34%, position and add same drop shadow.

Copy and paste element 2, resize to 45%, position and add same drop shadow.

Copy and paste element 14, resize to 27%, position, drop shadow.

Copy and paste element 6, resize to 34%, position beneath rose (element 14), add Gradient Glow changing first number to 6.

Paper layer active, copy and paste element 10, position and add drop shadow.

Top layer active, copy and paste element 13, resize to 41%, postion, add Gradient Glow.

Add your copyright and license information.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.  Choose your Crop Tool go to the far right of the options and under Snap Crop Rectangle to choose the second option Layer Opaque then click the check mark.  This will remove any excess around your tag.

Type out your text.  I am using size 36 color black.  Position, convert to raster layer and add Gradient Glow.

Save your tag as a PNG.
