This kit is on $1 and has lots of fun goodies to use in projects

Template is a CDO Exclusive Freebie found here and was created by Dee

Font used is Isildur High

I am using version PSP 9 ~ No outside filters used

I use the same instructions throughout tutorial so I will make it easier to follow by abbreviating

CP ~ Copy and Paste

SSAFD ~ Selections, Select All, Float, Defloat 

SID ~ Selections, Invert, Delete

SSN ~ Selections, Select None

Let's get creative!

Open your template, I am using the .pspimage version ~ Shift D and close out your original

Delete Raster 1 (background) layer and INFO layer

For this project you will be using papers 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16

tan square layer ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 14 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete tan square layer

white oval layer (not the DS layer) ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 16 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete white oval layer

red circle layer ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 13 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete red circle layer

white circle layer ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 9 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete white circle layer

green strip layer ~ Layers ~ Arrange ~ Move Up

green square layer ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 15 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete green square layer

green strip layer ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 14 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete green strip layer

dotted square layer ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 9 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete dotted square layer

small white squares layer ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 9 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete small white squares layer

wordart black layer ~ SSAFD ~ CP paper 9 ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete wordart black layer

Top layer active ~ Layers ~ Merge down and merge down again ~ Your word art is now one layer and you can position where you like

On your mistletoe layer ~ CP your tube ~ Position

This is where your creativity comes in!

I used the gift elements 90 & 91 as well as 112, 113, 114 & 115 in my project and resized them differently then positioned them behind the wordart but in front of my tube ~ Use my tag as guide

Choose any other elements you like ~ Resize as needed ~ Position

I did not use any drop shadows except the ones that were in the template already

Layers ~ Merge ~ Merge Visible

Resize tag to your liking ~ I resized my tag to 68% ~ Adjust ~ Sharpness ~ Sharpen if needed

Add your license and credit layer

Merge Visible

Image ~ Canvas Size ~ 476 (or your width if different than mine) by 550

This gives you a little more room to place your text at the bottom

Add text ~ I used Isildur High font ~ White 2 pixel foreground ~ #712d20 background ~ Size 72 ~ Kearning at -100

Position text ~ Layers Merge Visible

Save as PNG

A wonderful FTU kit by Candy's Sweet Shop called Blue Kitty Christmas

(Note about kit ::  This kit is in .psd format.  I created separate JPEGs for all the .psd images so that I could see them.  My particular viewer doesn't see .psd files.  Or you can just open them all up in PSP to view)

Font of your choice ~ I used Bisque

I am using PSP 9 with no outside filters

Open a new image 650 x 250

Open Image 19 ~ Flood fill your image

Selections ~ Select All ~ Float ~ Defloat ~ Selections ~ Modify ~ Select Selection Borders ~ Both Sides ~ Anti Alias checked ~ Border width 5 ~ New Raster Layer

Open paper P1 ~ Flood Fill border

Effects ~ 3D Effects ~ Drop Shadow

2, 2, 25, 3

-2, -2, 25, 3

Open P1 and P2 ~ Make P2 your foreground and P1 your background

Rectangle Tool ~ Create on Vector checked ~ Line style solid ~ Width 3 ~ Anti Alias checked

Make your Raster 1 layer active ~ Draw a rectangle from side to side about 3/4 of the way down your tag using my tag as a guide ~ Try to make it go just under your border

Effects ~ 3D Effects ~ Drop Shadow

Open Image 10 ~ Resize to 68% ~ Copy and Paste to canvas ~ Position

Image ~ Canvas Size ~ 900 x 500 ~ Center button

Open Image 17 ~ Copy, Paste and position ~ Add drop shadow -2, -2, 25, 3

Open Image 18 ~ Copy, Paste and position ~ Add drop shadow -2, -2, 25, 3

Open Image 14 ~ Resize 68% ~ Copy, Paste and position ~ Using your Raster Deform Tool angle slightly using my tag as a guide ~ Add same drop shadow

Open Image 7 ~ Resize 68% ~ Copy and Paste ~ Layers ~ Arrange ~ Send to Bottom ~ Position using my tag as a guide ~ Add same drop shadow

Make your rectangle layer active ~ Text Tool ~ Choose your font, size and color

I chose the font Bisque ~ size 24 ~ color #162e44 in your background

Type out your name several times till it fills the area ~ I put about 3 spaces in between each name then hit my space bar till I like the position of the name

Add your credits or licensing information if needed

Layers ~ Merge ~ Merge Visible

Copy and Paste your tag as a New Image to get rid of the excess canvas

Resize to your liking ~ I resized to 88% ~ Adjust ~ Sharpness ~ Sharpen if needed

Save as a PNG

Open paper 24 ~ CP to template ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete star layer

Raster 5 layer ~ SSAFD

Open paper 25 ~ CP to template ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete Raster 5 layer

Make Raster 3 active

Open your tube ~ Layer 1 ~ CP to your template ~ Position

Open elements 137 through 141 ~ Resize them all but vary so the presents are not all the same size ~ CP each present behind Raster 5

This is where your own flair and creativity come in ~ Open up any elements you wish to use ~ Resize them and position behind Raster 5

wording MC layer ~ SSAFD

Open paper 16 ~ CP ~ SID ~ SSN ~ Delete wording MC layer

Your top layer should be the new layer you just created with paper 16 ~ Layers, Merge, Merge Down

This is the Merry Christmas wording and now you should have one layer and be able to position where you like

You will now add drop shadows ~ Start at your top layer and work your way down through each layer

Effects, 3-D Effects, Drop Shadow

This is what I used but you may change it to your liking ~ You may also choose to not use Drop Shadows ~ I use them to add a more 3 dimensional feel

-3, 3, 25, 3.00, Black

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

At this point depending on what you are creating (a tag or a header for stationary) you may want to re-size your creation ~ I don't really like huge tags so I resized mine

Image, Resize, 68%, Resize All Layers ~ Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen (if needed)

Add your licensing and/or credits as needed ~ I wait to add this till after I resize to make sure it is visible

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Add your text

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Save as a PNG

Tutorial ~ PTU Blue Christmas

Supplies Needed

I am using the beautiful PTU scrap kit by Amy Marie called Merry Christmas Blue found here

I am using the PTU artwork of Rion Vernon purchased at Creative Design Outlet here

Let's get creative!

Open a 600 x 600 transparent canvas

In your scrap kit open Ribbon 3 ~ Shift D and minimize one ribbon

On the first ribbon Image, Mirror ~ Copy and paste to your canvas, position at bottom

On the duplicate ribbon ~ Image, Rotate, Free Rotate, 90 Degrees, All Layers ~ Copy and paste, position to the left of the canvas forming a Letter L

Open Candle1 element ~ Image, Mirror ~ Image, Resize 88% ~ Copy and paste and position to the left on top of the ribbon

Open MetalDeer element ~ Image, Resize, 41% ~ Copy, paste and position as in my tag above ~ Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow -3, -3, 25, 3.00 Black

Open Kitten In Giftbox element ~ Image, Resize 68% ~ Copy and paste to canvas and position to the right

Open TreeQB element ~ Copy and paste and move layer to bottom ~ Add same drop shadow

Copy and paste your tube ~ Position and add same drop shadow

If you are using word art ~ Copy and paste ~ Selections, Select All, Float, Defloat, paste pp2, Selections, Invert, Delete, delete original word art layer

Add licensing and credits as needed

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Add your text ~ I used LaffRiotNF size 48, 3 strokes with the blue and white taken from the colors of the kit

Reindeer Games Tag Tutorial (PTU)

Supplies Needed

I am using a PTU kit by Amy Marie called Reindeer Games found here

I am using FTU Toxic Desirez Winter Template 2 found here

I am using the FTU artwork by legiostudios

I am using version PSP 9 ~ No outside filters used

Remember that this is your own creation ~ You can change around papers and elements as you like ~ Use a FTU scrapkit, different template or artwork ~ This is just a guideline to help you learn how to use templates and scrapkits together.  The instructions look daunting but most of it is repetitive of copy/paste.

Let's get creative!

Open your template, shift D, close out original

Delete credit layer, background layer and Pink Rectangle layer

Oval layer, Selections, Select All, Float, Defloat

(known from here throughout tutorial as SSAFD)

Open paper 7, copy and paste as a new layer, position paper upward to show more of lower graphic

Selections, Invert, Delete, delete Oval layer

Blue Rectangle layer, SSAFD

Copy and paste paper 6 ~ here is the tricky part...try to position the paper to match paper 7 you just set by positioning upward and matching the lines up on the graphic

Selections, Invert, Delete, delete Rectangle layer

Right Rectangle layer (it's actually the circle but named rectange), SSAFD

Copy and paste paper 14

Selections, Invert, Delete, delete Right Rectangle layer

Left Circle Layer, SSAFD

Paste paper 14 again

Selections, Invert, Delete, delete Left Circle layer

Left Rectangle layer, SSAFD

Copy and paste paper 15

Selections, Invert, Delete, delete Left Rectangle layer

Roght Rectangle layer (it's spelled incorrectly on template), SSAFD

Paste paper 15 again

Selections, Invert, Delete, delete Roght Rectangle layer

Selections, Select None

Raster 1, copy and paste your tube, resize and position as desired

Now we will add some drop shadows and they will be the same drop shadows throughout

Start at the top of your layers, Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow

3, 3, 25, 3, Black

Work your way through your layers with the same drop shadow

Now start at the top again and add new drop shadow of -3, -3, 25, 3, Black

Here is where your own flair comes in.  Choose any elements you wish.  Copy, paste, resize and position to your liking.  I added the Snow 1 element and dropped the opacity to 41

Add the same drop shadows to all your elements except snow

Add your credits and licensing information as needed

Add your text and drop shadow

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Resize to your liking.  Usually depending on the template size I used it is either 88% or 68% of original, Adjust, Sharpeness, Sharpen

Save as a PNG

PTU Scrap Kit I am using is Punk It by Daniela K

FTU Template I am using is #62 by AquaRebel and can be found here

Font used for name is Happy size 48 using the pink and purple from the kit colors with a 1 Stroke Width

Let's get creative!

Open your template and Shift D.  Close out original

X out layers 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & 21 ~ These are the credits, arrow layers, squares and background layer ~ Delete these layers

You should have only 7 layers now

Make the Rectangle layer active and bring opacity back up to 100%

Open papers 3 and 7

Make Black Shape layer active

Copy and paste your tube ~ position (use my tag as a guide)

Rectangle layer grab and drag beneath tube layer

Make Black Shape active again ~ Selections, Select All, Float, Defloat

Copy and paste paper 3 ~ Selections, Invert, Delete

Delete Black Shape layer

Make Glitter Shape layer active ~ Selections, Select All, Float, Defloat

Copy and paste paper 3 ~ Selections, Invert, Delete

Delete Glitter Shape layer

Rectangle layer ~ Selections, Select All, Float, Defloat

Copy and paste paper 7 ~ Selections, Invert, Delete

Delete Rectangle layer

Glitter Backing layer ~ Selections, Select All, Float, Defloat

Copy and paste paper 7 ~ Selections, Invert, Delete

Delete Glitter Backing layer

Wordart layer active ~ Layers Merge, Merge Down ~ Position as in my tag

Open Elements 11, 38, 49, 51, 54, 56, 57 & 58

Resizing Elements

#11 to 68% ~ #49 to 88% ~ #51 to 68% ~ #54 to 41% ~ #56 to 68% ~ #57 to 68% ~ #58 to 23%

Copy and paste then position all elements as you like.  I mirrored the skull.  I also used the Raster Deform tool to rotate some elements like the safety pin and lips.

The drop shadow I used on all is -3, -3, 25, 3 Black

Layers ~ Merge Visible

Resize tag to your liking ~ I resized to 88%

Place credits and licensing needed for your artwork

Layers ~ Merge Visible

Type out your text as you like it

Layers ~ Convert to Raster Layer

Add your drop shadow to text ~ Positon

Layers ~ Merge Visible

Save as a PNG
